Take a look at our everyday lives, how I capture my own two crazy boys and get an even better feel for lifestyle photography. Some are just I phone pics, some are with a real camera. I love photographing them together especially now that my younger one is a mobile and more fun for my older one to play with. :)
This is my favorite way to photograph. Its the best way to document real life. Choose to stay in your home or go to a familiar spot your family loves. Capturing families, kiddos, and even newborns in a natural and comfortable way gives us a chance to create images that have more meaning, love, emotion and will mean even more when looked back on in the future.
Portrait photography will never be a thing of the past and will always have a place in most families lives. I try to keep a lifestyle feel even for my portrait sessions that focus more on capturing faces and smiles, than embraces and mood.
Maternity sessions are so bitter sweet. Having had two kiddos myself, I know you are not feeling your most photographable when in your 8th or 9th month of pregnancy... however, I promise, you will never regret taking maternity pics. This is such an exciting time to capture. After all you are building a human inside of you! This is a great time to snap some shots of you and your husband, or your pets...siblings who are excited to meet the new little one... It is just an amazing adventure and you know your kids will want to see pics of when you were pregnant with them once they are older! This very reason is 1/2 responsible for why I became a photographer. :)
I love photographing newborns! Their tiny little toes and the sweet little swaddles. I get to put a lifestyle twist on your in home newborn session by having you go about getting your little one ready and letting you get in a good snuggle sesh with your new little babe. This creates such precious moments for me to capture. We also capture some of those precious naked, sleeping and wrapped images every parent wants to share.
Lately I have been stumbling around our 1,000 square foot house with stubbed toes, and bruises on the bottom of my feet... the culprit, these happy messes. My boys share a room, and we have made it a point to store all of their toys in their space. Of course they make there way out into the rest of the house on a daily basis.. and are mostly always in the way, however some days I stumble upon the cutest mess I've ever seen and this is why I started photographing them. It started when I was pregnant with my second son and I couldn't see my feet. Most of the messes are not left in perfect light and I am just quickly photographing them with my I phone, but it makes me so happy to document these adorable messes. I can't wait to show the boys when they are adults. :)
Birth photography is new to me, and I have only photographed one complete labor and birth so far. It was truly an amazing experience and I can't wait to do more! I just love photographing these little babes when they are all squishy and just opening their eyes for the first time and in their first days of life. Feel free to have me come over to your home or the hospital the day after birth to capture first day images if you are only interested in a mini session after the baby is here.
